Musician: Percussionist
I have, as most percussionists, been acquainted with rhythms from Latinamerica, Africa and the Balkans. But I have, through my work with Reggae, RnB and Hip Hop, developed a style with fewer perceivable subdivisions and I relate lesser to styles and historical rhythmpatterns than in traditional percussion.
I try to have an nordic/north european approach to percussion. When i play I try to visualize coolnes, forests, fields, sea, adventure etc. more than warmth, festivity, energy etc. Percussion, of course in respect to the context, have to be organic to fulfill its role in the music
Future developments:
I have always been facinated by the drumdance from Greenland and the Scotish Bothran, so maybe I´ll dig into these areas.
