I have been reading Science Fiction most of my life.
The first book was read aloud to me in 3. grade and was a story my teacher had wrote about a boy who fell into a cubistic painting at an exebition. The title was "Cubus or Chaos". The next story was also read aloud and was Benny Andersens "Excuse me mr. where is the nature".
I had also followed the moonlandings in 1969-72 and watched the series THUNDERBIRDS, Flash Gordon and Moonbase Alfa in the television so I was sold.
One of the teenagegoals I achieved, was to read all the SF-books at the main library before my 16. birthday. Because of that I got well around the genres and maybe therefore I dont have any specific favorit genre today.
